Audit Information

The Finance Committee is working on a Diocese of Dallas Financial Policy Manual for parishes and missions. The first section is just being completed – it will guide a congregation through an financial and operations audit . This self-audit program is primarily designed for parishes and missions that cannot afford the cost of an audit performed by an independent accounting firm. A self-audit completed using the this procedure is will fulfill the requirements of Canon 29, which requires an annual audit from each parish and mission.

Section 29.4
All accounts of the Diocese shall be audited annually by an independent Certified Public Accountant. All accounts of Parishes, Missions or other institutions shall be audited annually by an independent Certified Public Accountant, or such Audit Committee as shall be authorized by the Department of Finance of the Diocese.
